Description
The Thatched House is a house mainly from the 18th century, constructed of brick, flint, and thatch. It features a regular facade with five bays, two storeys, and an attic. The flint plinth has been renewed, and there is a platband present. The house has 19th-century square-headed casements with glazing bars in three of the right-hand ground floor bays, which are set under segmental arches. The fourth ground floor opening is blocked, while the remaining windows also have glazing bars. There is a pilaster between the first and second bays, and the left-hand bay is likely a later addition. The attic includes three dormer casement windows. Internally, there are gable end stacks, and the gables are shaped. The rear of the house features a massive internal central stack, which has been rebuilt at the top. There is a three-light chamfered mullion window on the upper left-hand side, and the right-hand upper side has a cross-transomed leaded casement. Additionally, there is a 20th-century single-storey extension at the rear, which is of no special interest.
