Description
The stables at Hall Farm, located approximately 60 meters north of Hall Farmhouse, date from the early 19th century and are now used as pighouses. They are constructed from gault brick and feature a roof covered with corrugated tiles, which has a ridge that includes regular transverse coping tiles for ventilation. The building is single storey with a loft and consists of eight bays, with the two end bays projecting forward. The central four bays have wide eaves, and there is a central doorway. The bays and angles are highlighted by tapering pilasters made of gault brick, and there is a plinth made of dark knapped flint. The right gable is finished in pebble flint and is framed by tapering gault brick pilasters, with a loft door set into the rendered gable. The eaves cornice is made of gault brick and features dentil decoration, with every fifth brick being red and projecting. The left gable has been renewed with large doors. The rear of the building, which is of no special interest, is made of brick and flint and includes seven pig creeps.
