Description
The Old Fire Station, dated 1911, is a red brick building with moulded brick and terracotta dressings. It has a slate roof with crested ridge tiles and gabled ends, featuring wide eaves. The building is single-storeyed and includes two segmental arched doorways with folding doors, the arches detailed with scalloped bricks and keyblocks. Each side of the doorways is flanked by a moulded terracotta panel displaying a swag and the date. A central inscription reads "Fire Station". Above the centre is a fleche or bellcote. This building possesses group value from its contribution to the streetscape.
