Description

The Trunch War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was erected around 1920. It is made of grey granite and is located in the churchyard of St Botolph’s Church on Front Street in Trunch, Norfolk, prominently positioned by the church porch. The memorial features a rough-hewn wheel-head cross on a wide plinth, which is set into a concrete base. The plinth is inscribed with lettering that is incised and blacked.

The inscription reads: IN MEMORY OF/ THE TRUNCH MEN WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918/ (NAMES)/ FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH/ (NAME) 1939 – 1945.
