Description
Ivy Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, which was refaced in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and flint, topped with a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The south facade features two storeys with five irregular bays arranged to create a syncopated symmetry. There are two symmetrically placed half-glazed doors, each accompanied by two arched lights. The doorcases are supported by half columns that end in block capitals and have flat hoods above them.
On the ground floor, there are three arched Gothick windows with three lights each, featuring leaded lights. The first floor has three similar windows, all set under segmental arches. Above the doors, there are window spaces, with one blocked to the right and a two-light casement to the left. The wall surface is a mixture of flint, brickwork, and chequered brickwork, and there is a panelled eaves cornice in a raised parapet. The roof is gabled with a bell base, featuring an internal stack on the west gable end and a partly external stack on the east gable end, along with a further 20th-century ridge stack located to the right of centre. The gable head exhibits tumbling.
