Description

The left gate pier to the Manor House, dating from the 18th century, is located at the entrance to the Manor House. It is square in shape and made of rendered brick, featuring recessed semi-circular headed panels on its faces. The pier has a square stone cap adorned with cyma recta classical leaf moulding, and it is topped with a stone griffin's head, which is the crest of the Newman family that owned the Manor in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Attached to the left of the pier is a low curved brick wall, also capped with stone.
