Description
China Row is a house dating from around 1820, located on the north side of The Street in Morston. The building features walls made of pebble flint with brick dressings and a roof covered in smut pantiles. It stands two storeys high and has eight bays, showcasing architectural details typical of the early 19th century, though it may be based on an earlier structure. The windows have gothic 'Y' tracery, and there are cast iron glowing bars, some of which have been replaced. The house has brick quoined surrounds with brick voussoirs and pilasters that are integrated into the flint walling and brick quoins. It has deep eaves with a hooded dentil detail and a hipped roof that includes two off-centre stacks along the ridge. There are 20th-century dormer windows and lean-to glass house extensions that obscure the ground floor.
