Description

High Winds and the adjoining house is a building that has been divided into three cottages. It dates from the early 17th century and was remodeled and enlarged in the 19th century. The structure features diapered brick, brick, and flint, topped with a hipped pantile roof and has an L-shaped plan. It is two storeys tall with random fenestration and a rendered plinth.

The right-hand bay is made of plain brick and includes a 20th-century casement window and door; there is also a 20th-century door with a 20th-century casement under a segmental arch to the right and a leaded casement to the left. The upper floor has two 20th-century windows and one leaded casement. The projecting left-hand bay contains a leaded casement under a segmental arch in a larger blocked opening, with the remains of rendered reveals; there is also a leaded casement on the first floor in another larger blocked opening.

The building has two axial stacks, and the left-hand return features a 19th/20th-century lean-to that partly covers a blocked opening with rendered reveals. The upper floor has two leaded casements in larger openings with rendered reveals, along with a small blocked light also with rendered reveals. The right-hand gable wall is constructed of flint.
