Description

The barn at Hall Farm, now used as a cattle shed, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of coursed flint with brick dressings and is covered with pantiles, featuring five main bays. To the east, there are an additional three bays built in brick from the 18th century. The five western bays include a central opening to the south, which has an extended porch that is wider than the bay and features a weather-boarded gable. The west gable has a large opening from the 20th century, with flint at the eaves and brick above, including a moulded brick platband and a short moulded brick band below a blocked opening. There is also an owl hole at the apex.

The roof has a three-tier butt purlin structure with two tiers of collars and tie beams, along with wind braces above the highest purlins. The 19th-century queen post supports the lowest purlins. The east gable is made of brick and has three honeycombed air vents, with "MR" in iron letters on the gable and a large opening from the 20th century. The roof over the three eastern bays features staggered purlins with collars and some wind braces, along with several 19th-century additions and struts. There is a central opening leading to a lean-to on the south side. Additionally, there are 19th-century single-storey ranges of open sheds to the south that enclose two yards, and an attached yard wall to the west made of flint with diagonal headers.
