Description
The Church of All Saints is a parish church that dates from the 13th century and later. It is constructed of flint with stone dressings and ferruginous conglomerate, topped with a slate roof. The building features a southwest tower, a continuous nave, a chancel, and a south porch. The unbuttressed southwest tower from the 13th century has a middle section with significant conglomerate, a lancet window on the west side, a Y-tracery window for the ringing chamber, and lancet openings for the bell. The aisleless nave has three bays, and the chancel is continuous with two bays, supported by diagonal buttresses.
The late 15th-century nave windows are three-light with panel tracery set under four-centred arches, while there is a blocked lancet window to the left of the porch. The east window, added in the 19th century, has four lights and is also under a four-centred arch. Evidence of earlier work can be seen in the conglomerate just north of the tower, with conglomerate quoins in the south wall of the tower and throughout the first two bays of the nave. The south porch is located at the first bay of the nave and features a doorway with a hood-mould and figure stops, along with a door that has a medieval iron doorknocker. There is also a north doorway dating from around 1300. Inside, there is a cusped arch leading to a piscina.
