Description
Felmingham Hall is a house dated 1569. It is constructed of brick, now rendered, with a slate roof and an E-plan layout. The house is two storeys high with an attic. The east facade, which is rendered, has seven bays. Projecting end wings, each of two bays, feature stepped gables. A single-bay, two-storey porch, also with a stepped gable, displays the date 1569, though the porch itself is not original. 19th-century sash windows are present. The south face of the north wing has a two-light mullion and transom window with ovolo mouldings. The north face of the north wing has a large, partially external stack with diapering, where the shafts have been renewed, along with evidence of an earlier roof line. The north wall also exhibits diapering. A brick plinth is visible. On the rear or west elevation, the north wing shows diapering, along with blocked windows and a renewed gable featuring a 19th-century window. A large external stack is located on the central section. A 19th-century extension is attached to the rear of the south wing. Inside, the late 16th-century porch retains its original door and doorframe. A stone fireplace in the north wing bears the date 1569 in the jambs, although the rest of the fireplace is later.
