Description
Dairy Farm House is a house that dates from the 17th century, with 19th century refacing of an earlier core. It features a brick and flint exterior that has been colour washed, topped with a pantile roof. The main part of the house has a lobby entrance plan and is two storeys high with four bays, featuring a door located under an axial stack. The 19th century mullioned casements are set beneath square hood moulds. The right-hand gable shows signs that the roof has been raised. To the left of the main range, there is a single bay two-storey extension with a flint front and flint plinth. This extension now has 19th century casements with square hood moulds, and there is evidence of an earlier large window, with reveals rendered to imitate ashlar, crossing the present floor levels. The gable wall is constructed in English bond brick, and the rear brick wall also has a large blocked window. Inside, the tie beam of the earlier roof remains in place at the right-hand gable, and there is a staircase beside the stack.
