Description
Nos 12 to 18 on Station Road are a range of four cottages built in the 18th century. They are constructed from flint with brick dressings, although No 16 has been rendered over. The cottages feature a steep-pitched pantile roof and are two storeys high, with attics and cellars. The windows are designed in a Gothick style, with cast-iron casements set in timber frames. No 16 has modern casements with segmental heads for the ground floor openings. There is a central chimney stack and another chimney at the west gable, both of which have been rebuilt. An attic casement is located in the east gable, and the west gable has a coped and parapetted design with a blocked attic window. To the south, there is a catslide extension that includes four 'wedge' dormers with C.L. windows, along with some later casements.
