Description
The Lodge is a house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered brick and gault brick, topped with glazed black pantiles and slate roofs, and has an irregular plan. The facade features five bays and two storeys. The central entrance has a rendered brick porch with a semi-circular arched entrance, pilasters, and three orders to the arch, all topped with a keystone. The double door has blank lower panels and glazed upper panels with glazing bars, along with a peacock tail fanlight above. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, although the lower halves of the ground floor windows are made of plate glass. The building has corner pilasters and a deep blank cornice that extends down to the porch, framing a window above that has a flat hood supported by consoles. A plain parapet completes the design. There are two gault brick stacks at the gable end featuring recessed panels. To the left and right are single-storey, single-bay wings, likely added in the late 19th century, which have sash windows with eared architraves, a plain parapet, and a slate roof.
