Description
The Baptist Church, dated 1829, is a brick building with a hipped roof covered in black glazed pantiles. It has a square ground plan and features a two-storey extension at the rear. The facade consists of three bays and is two storeys high. The central doorway has a double reveal and a semi-circular gauged brick arch, with double doors made up of three raised and fielded panels, and a semi-circular fanlight above that has radial glazing bars. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. Inside, there is a raked gallery with some box-pews on three sides, supported by iron pillars. The pulpit is in the shape of a wine glass and has a niche behind it. There are large arched openings on either side of the pulpit, which were blocked when a school-room was added.
