Description
The barn at Ferndale Farm is an 18th-century structure built of colourwashed brick in English bond on a coursed flint plinth, topped with pantiles. It features five bays with a lower extension to the east. There are two doors on each side, along with ventilation slits and an oversailing eaves cornice. The west gable has a roofless lean-to with a large 20th-century opening and the initials "TP" for Thomas Page in iron. The east gable displays part of a date "1-7-" and "TP" in iron, along with tumbled brickwork. The lofted lower extension to the east is made of colourwashed brick on a flint base, with a reduced opening to the loft in the flint gable. The roof of the main barn features two tiers of collars, with tie beams braced from the wall posts.
