Description
The ruins of the Church of St. Margaret, a medieval parish church, are located approximately 60 meters east of Bayfield Hall. The structure is built of flint, with some erratic stones, and is roofless, consisting of a two-cell nave and chancel. The nave features openings for doorways on the north and south sides, and a west window opening that is stone dressed with some brick voussoirs. There is a wide lancet window with no tracery. The church has a double bell cote with two stone dressed openings. In the chancel, there are north and south windows with pointed segmental heads, although the tracery has been lost. A narrow chancel arch is present, partially blocked by a larger arch, and there is a piscina located in the north wall.
