Description

The Buttlands in Pevensey is a late 18th-century building constructed from yellow brick. It features a moulded cornice and a low parapet, topped by a hipped pantile roof. A stone band runs along the first floor. The building has three near-flush frame sash windows, each with gauged flat arches, now featuring only central glazing bars. The entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a flat hood supported by cast iron columns. In 1899, a one-storey wing was added to the north, which includes an arched entrance and a window on each side, serving as a surgery. The listed buildings on the west side of The Buttlands form a group with this building and Yew Tree House, which is adjacent.
