Description
The barn at Old Hall Farm House is an 18th-century structure made of brick and thatch. It features a three-steaded design with later outshuts added to the south and west, as well as an attached byre on the west side. The barn has a brick and flint plinth, a barn door opening to the north, and a cart lodge door with a segmental timber lintel within the south outshut. There are four vent loops for each stead, positioned at three different levels in the gables. Rectangular openings are present at the base of both gable walls, along with owl holes at the peaks. The gables have parapets with moulded brick kneelers. Inside, the barn has a seven-bay double butt purlin roof, supported by beams on wall posts with arch braces. The vent loops have been enlarged to rectangular openings, featuring a corbelled brick arch above. The attached buildings to the west are not of special interest. This barn is included for its group value.
