Description
Croxton House Barn is an early to mid 18th-century barn constructed of brick. It features three sections and has off-centre cart doors that reach the height of the eaves. The openings are arranged on either side in two storeys above a central brick platband. On the north side, there are three honeycomb brick ventilation holes, while the south side has four. The barn is topped with brick kneelers and parapets, and it has an ogee brick finial at the apex. The north gable includes seven ventilation holes, and the south gable has platbands at the midpoint and at the springing of the gable, with a total of seven openings: five honeycomb brick ventilation holes and two that serve as windows, along with an attic door. Inside, the barn features an eight-bay roof supported by four tie beams, two ranks of butt purlins with collars, and some wind bracing.
