Description
Thorpland Hall Farmhouse is a building that likely dates back to the 16th century. It is timber framed and was faced in red brick during the 18th century, with some sections made of flint. The farmhouse features a brick string course and brick dentil eaves, topped by a steep pantile roof with coped gable ends. It has two storeys and four widely spaced windows, which include modern and 19th-century two and three-light casements. The left end of the building projects slightly and has a segmental-headed doorway. There is a modern central door with a modern wood gabled porch. A 19th-century lean-to is located on the left end (north), and there is a 19th-century addition on the south (right) end, which has one window and a gable-ended pantile roof. The farmhouse also features a large brick chimney stack that is off centre, as well as another brick chimney stack on the north end. Inside, there are chamfered beams. At the rear (east), there is a modern gabled brick wing.
