Description
Dilldash House is a house with a core dating to the late 16th or early 17th century, and later additions. The ground floor is built of flint with brick dressings, while the first floor is brick. It has a roof covered in smut pantile tiles. The north side of the building has two 2-light arched wooden casement windows; a central 2-light casement; and a 2-light cast iron casement window at the south, all with glazing bars. The first floor has three cast iron casements with glazing bars. A 20th-century door of two raised and fielded panels is set beneath a canopy. The house features a brick eaves cornice with modillion details, quoins to the north gable, some diapering, and end parapets. An off-centre brick stack rises from the roof, featuring two octagonal shafts with moulded bases. A ground floor room at the south contains a chamfered beam and bressumer with ogee stops, along with joists with rolled chamfers. A fireplace with a wooden bolection moulded mantle is also present. On the first floor at the north, a raised cruck truss is visible.
