Description
This is a house dating from the 19th century, though with an earlier core. It is constructed of galleted flint with brick dressings, and likely had a timber frame originally; the roof is pantiled. The house is rectangular in plan with a 19th-century outshut to the rear. The front elevation has two storeys and three bays. A 20th-century door occupies the centre, with rendered reveals and a hood mould. There are three 19th-century casement windows, also with rendered reveals and hood moulds. Three re-set terracotta panels depicting mythical beasts are positioned between the ground and first-floor window openings. The right-hand gable return and right-hand corner feature bricks from the 17th century. Two gable end stacks are constructed from gault brick. A plinth with a brick cap is visible on the left-hand gable wall, and there is a platband and a rear wall that splays at the base. The right-hand gable includes a blocked attic light. At the rear, a large right-hand gable return has a blocked stair light, and a rendered brick mullion and transom window with ovolo moulding is set into the rear wall.
