Includes: No.17 ST NICHOLAS STREET. Range comprising public house and domestic quarters, now all offices. C16 origins, completely rebuilt c1830. Brown brick. Slate roof to front, pantiles to rear. 2 storeys in 7 bays, centre bay broken forward under a gable. This bay with a C20 door and a first-floor C20 cross casement. To left of elevation a C19 public house facade in 4 subsidiary bays with a doorway under overlight to right. 2 sashes above with glazing bars. Remainder of fenestration renewed 2-light casements to C19 pattern with arched lights. All openings with gauged skewback arches. Gabled roof. Internal gable-end stacks and 2 further ridge stacks symmetrically placed. Similar facade to St Nicholas Street. Main wall to rear of roughly coursed ashlar and carstone blocks. INTERIOR. Public house area retains c1830 wainscoting and serving hatch, otherwise little of interest.
