Description
No. 16, St James’ Street is a late 18th-century shop with a flat. The building is constructed of brown brick, with the ground floor rendered and whitewashed. It has a slate roof. The building is three storeys high and three bays wide. A 20th-century shopfront is located on the right-hand side, adjacent to a carriage entrance at the rear. A platband runs along the first floor level. The first and second floors contain sash windows with glazing bars, each topped with a gauged skewback segmental arch. A blind window is located in the centre of the second floor. The roof is gabled, with an internal gable-end stack to the west. The building is included on the list for its group value.
