Description

Church Farm Cottages, located approximately 110 meters east of the Church of St. Nicholas, is a building dating from the 18th century. Originally a farmhouse, it has been converted into two dwellings. The structure is constructed of colourwashed brick in English bond and features pantiles with gable parapets. It consists of five bays, is two storeys high with an attic, and has gable end stacks, with the stack on the right being internal and the one on the left external, both having renewed shafts. There is also an off-centre axial stack to the left.

On the ground floor, the windows are sashes with glazing bars set under cambered arches in bays 1, 3, and 5, while bays 2 and 4 have six-panelled doors. The first floor features sashes with glazing bars arranged in a 3 x 3 pane configuration. The right side of the building is finished in flint and carstone, with a brick band at the eaves level. There is a classical doorway on the right, with a flush sash window with glazing bars above it, and a horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars in the attic.

At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to attached to the back of bays 1 and 2, and a one-and-a-half storey outshut at the back of bays 3 and 5, both made of carstone brick and flint, featuring blocked and inserted openings. Inside, there is a narrow axial stack situated between bays 2 and 3, with deep recesses on either side, and a gable end stack to the right that is enclosed.
