Description

Mill House and the attached ranges to the north, located about 20 meters west of the mill, date from around 1800 and incorporate older materials. The house is primarily constructed of brick, with some flint, and is colourwashed, featuring a hipped roof covered in pantiles. It has three bays and two storeys, with an irregular facade on the east side; the left-hand side is made of brick-dressed flint. The windows are recessed sashes with glazing bars and exposed sash boxes, with three on the ground floor and three on the first floor. The windows in bays two and three have four panes each and reeded sash boxes. There is a doorway located between the second and third ground floor sashes, with the upper part of the door glazed and featuring glazing bars.

To the north, there are staggered attached ranges that face Litcham Road, dating from the early 19th century. The left range is two storeys high, built of colourwashed brick under pantiles, with the third bay at an angle made of flint and brick. The renewed sashes in bays one and two have glazing bars, with bay one’s ground floor window recessed and bay two’s ground floor window flush in pairs. Bay three features double casements with side lights. The right range is also two storeys and set back, made of colourwashed brick and dressed flint, with a dentil cornice. The ground floor has two large tripartite sashes under flat arches, while the first floor has three recessed sashes with glazing bars. There is an attached range of cottages facing East Walton Road, which are of no special architectural interest. This building is included for its group value.
