Description

Nos. 5, 6, and 7 Priory Lane are three houses dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. They are constructed of brick and feature a plain tiled roof at the front and a pantiled roof at the rear. The buildings are two storeys high with a dormer attic. A rendered and painted platband runs along the first floor.

No. 7 has three bays and a central late 18th-century door with incised panelling. There is one late 17th-century or early 18th-century cross casement window on each side of the door, both with glazing bars, and two similar windows on the first floor. No. 6 also has three bays, with a 20th-century door set to the right of two 20th-century casement windows. There are three similar casements on the first floor. No. 5, which also has three bays, is entered through a central 20th-century door flanked by one 20th-century casement window on each side. There are two similar casements on the first floor. The hipped roof is punctuated by three sloping dormers; the dormer for No. 7 is fitted with 18th-century casements, while the others have 20th-century casements. The houses have two large, symmetrically-placed ridge stacks. At the rear, there is a full-length single-storey pantiled outshut.
