Description

The Belgrave Hotel is a hotel dating from around 1850, built of brown brick with red brick dressings and slate roofs. It is arranged in an L-shape, with a short two-bay section and a longer three-bay section. The entrance is located in the internal angle of the short leg, featuring a half-glazed door within a simple timber case and a matching internal porch. The ground floor has two sash windows to the left and one to the right, all set in different wall planes and featuring glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. An elaborate bowed cast-iron balcony is positioned at the first-floor level, supported by two cast-iron brackets, with French doors behind. The upper floor has smaller sash windows of a similar style. The building has hipped roofs, along with a stack on the west slope and another on the east hip wall-plane.
