Description

Eaton Cottage and the attached cottage to the west are a pair of early 19th century cottages. They are built of coursed pebble flint with brick dressings and have pantiled roofs. The eastern cottage, Eaton Cottage, features three bays and is two stories high, while the western cottage has two bays and is also two stories tall.

Eaton Cottage has two ground floor and two first floor sash windows with glazing bars, set in brick-dressed openings that have flat arches made of brick. The central entrance has a four-panel door, with the upper two panels raised and fielded, framed in reveals with a simple wooden architrave. Above the door, there is an exposed brick relieving arch. The first floor has four purlin iron heads, and there is a central datestone plaque that is illegible. The cottage also has brick quoins and a dentil eaves cornice, along with one brick stack on the east wall and another on the party wall.

The cottage to the west has one ground floor sash window and two first floor sashes, all with glazing bars and brick dressings. The ground floor window has a brick flat arch above it. The entrance features a four-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed, and is surrounded by reveals and a simple wooden architrave.

These cottages are included in the heritage listing primarily for their group value.
