Description
The remains of the base of the south-west tower and part of the west claustral range of the Priory of St. Mary and All Saints are located 20 meters east of Abbey Farm House. This structure dates from the 12th and 13th centuries and is built of flint with stone dressings. It features the base of an Early English tower that was added to the west end of the Norman church tower. The east wall has a blocked round-headed arch, while the north wall contains two blocked pointed arches with an angle corbel of vaulting from the 15th century inside the tower. There is also a fragment of the west end of the south aisle attached to the east. The Norman west cloister range, attached to the south, includes four distinct chambers that display surviving Norman and Early English architectural features. This site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County Number 170.
