Description
The Mill House is a building dating from around 1800. It is constructed of red brick and features a red pantiled roof. The house has three storeys and five bays. On the ground and first floors, there are four and five arched wooden framed plate glass sash windows, respectively, each with single glazing bars. The second floor has five straight-headed plate glass sashes, also with single glazing bars. A central pedimented doorcase leads to a panelled door. There is a plat-band on the first floor, and the building has a parapet and gables. The three bays on the east side and some details were replaced after a fire around 1959. At the south, there are double pile wings, and the return at the south-west is made of coursed, squared carstone blocks, smut, and red pantiles. This section is two storeys high with three bays, featuring two ground and three first floor sashes with glazing bars, brick rustication, and flat arches. The central wooden doorcase has a fluted arched surround and a six-panel raised and fielded door with a glazing bar fanlight. The second pile at the east has been rebuilt.
