Description
No. 6 South Quay is a house dating from the late 18th century, which has been converted into offices. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a roof made of black-glazed pantiles. The building has three storeys and a two-window range. There are platbands between the storeys, with each storey containing two 2/2 horned sash windows set beneath gauged skewback arches. The eaves cornice is decorated with modillions, and the roof is gabled. There is an internal gable-end stack to the south that has been truncated. The simple doorway is located in No. 7 to the south.
Inside, No. 6 is now connected with No. 5 to the north. The main room on the ground floor features a simple moulded cornice, and there is a stick baluster staircase with a ramped and wreathed handrail.
