Description

This is a mid-17th century house in Great Yarmouth, later used as offices. The original building was largely concealed within later alterations in the early and mid-19th century, with further changes made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick, covered by a pantiled roof. The house is three storeys high, with a three-window front. The ground floor has been altered in the late 20th century. The first floor features three 2/2 sash windows with horns. Reused cast-iron balcony railings are present. The second floor has three 6/6 sash windows with horns. A gabled roof tops the building.

The original 17th-century house was originally set back from the street. Within the cellar, remains of an arched doorway leading to the earlier ground floor can be seen. Surviving original features include a sunk-quadrant moulded bridging beam to the first floor and a bricked-in mullioned window in the east wall. An early 19th-century staircase with stick balusters, turned newels, and a ramped handrail is also present.
