Description

Billockby Hall is a farmhouse dating from around 1600, with alterations made in the mid 18th century and late 20th century. The building is constructed from rendered and colourwashed brick, topped with a roof of concrete tiles. The east facade has two storeys and a dormer attic, featuring two distinct sections. The southern two bays are the remnants of the original 1600 house, which includes a brick plinth course, one renewed three-light casement window on the ground floor, and two similar windows on the first floor, along with a smaller glazed light positioned between the upper windows.

At the northern end of the facade, there is an 18th-century addition that includes two 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The roof is gabled with a tall gabled dormer window, and there is a quadruple flued stack from around 1600 located in the center of the roof; this was originally an external stack and features a square plinth with rebuilt octagonal flues. The south gable displays brickwork primarily in English bond, with a late 20th-century bowed window on the ground floor and one 20th-century casement window on the first floor and attic. The north gable shows full brick tumbling and three 20th-century windows. To the west, there is a late 20th-century extension. The interior has been updated in the 20th century, but a four-centred fireplace remains in the lounge towards the south end of the main block.
