Description
Manor Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Briston Road in Wood Dalling. The building is constructed of red brick, which was formerly limewashed, and features rendered ashlar dressings. The east gable is made of coursed brick and flint. It has a steeply-pitched pantile roof and stands two storeys tall with attics.
The south facade has three bays. On the left side, there are 3-light 19th-century ovolo-moulded casements with iron lattice glazing set in reduced openings, accompanied by plain brick dripmoulds. The original window openings show remains of stuccoed ashlaring, and there are blocked openings to the right of these windows.
In the center, there is a 2½ storey porch with a crow-stepped gable supported by moulded brick eaves corbels. The porch features a segmental-headed doorway and a 2-light ovolo-moulded casement on the first floor in a reduced opening, complete with a drip mould and ashlaring to the original opening. The gable apex has a blind recess with rendered infill. The west wall of the porch has a 2-light casement with iron lattice glazing, while the first floor opening is blocked.
To the east of the porch, the brickwork is a later rebuild in Flemish bond, featuring 19th-century 3-light ovolo-moulded casements with plain brick dripmoulds. The east and west gables are stepped and have moulded eaves corbels. There are chimney stacks off-centre to the west and an internal stack on the east gable, each with two linked octagonal shafts. An attic casement is present in the west gable, although the lower openings are blocked, retaining traces of ashlaring. Additionally, there is a catslide roof over a lean-to at the north-east corner. The north wall has one 2-light ovolo-moulded casement on the first floor, with other openings blocked.
