Description
The Old Lodge is a former gate lodge to Little Plumstead Hall, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a slate roof. The building has a single-storey octagonal plan with a lean-to on the eastern side and a modern gabled single-storey wing attached to the north. The lodge has a rendered plinth and rusticated quoins. Each of its faces includes a two-centred arched opening with rusticated quoins, which contain two-light casement windows with 'Y' tracery, except for the south face that has a boarded door. The roof is hipped, and there is a central octagonal gault brick chimney stack. The 20th-century wing is not considered to be of special interest.
