Description
Manor Farm House is a 17th-century farmhouse originally constructed of red brick, with later colourwashing. It has black pantile roofs and two storeys with attics, incorporating a rear lean-to staircase wing. The original three-cell house was extended westward later. The facade presents six bays, featuring 19th-century casement windows on the first floor and 20th-century windows on the ground floor. A 19th-century lean-to extension is present to the west. The rear elevation has 19th-century casement windows to the first floor, and a mix of casements and sashes on the ground floor, all with segmental brick arches above. Original 17th-century red bricks are visible on the eastern gable and rear elevations. The staircase tower is raised and shows earlier brickwork, where the verge is visible. The main roof eaves are corbelled, with brick tumbling-in within the eaves, along with gable chimneystacks and an off-set axial stack. Wedge dormers are present on the north side, the most easterly featuring leaded lights. Inside, the house retains moulded principal ceiling beams and large fireplaces.
