Description
Bushey Place is an early 19th-century building located on Cromer Road in Aylsham. It features a grey brick exterior topped with modern concrete tiles on a hipped roof. The facade has three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting forward. The building is adorned with corner pilasters that have moulded capitals. It has sash windows with glazing bars set beneath flat rubbed brick arches. An eaves cornice with guttae and a moulded string course at the first floor level add to its architectural detail. The central doorway is framed by a part-glazed two-leaf door and is sheltered by a portico supported by Doric columns, with pilasters and an entablature. There are two brick chimney stacks on the roof. The building also has single-storey wings on the north and south sides, each featuring pedimented gables and sash windows with glazing bars. A slate-roofed bay window is located on the south side.
