Description
Woolsey's Farm House, along with its attached garden walls and gates, is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, which was refronted in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring glazed headers and has a black pantiled roof. The building has an 'L' shaped plan and consists of two storeys with attics, along with single-storey extensions to the south and east.
The facade facing the road has five windows and a central double door with six panels. The door features a timber case with panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, an entablature, and a projecting cornice. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and segmental brick arches above them. The gables have parapets, with an end stack on the west side and an off-centre axial stack on the east. The eaves are corbelled, and there is a platband at the eaves level along with gable tie irons.
To the south, there is an attached garden wall with a coping made of bricks laid on edge. To the north, another garden wall includes a gateway that encloses the north forecourt. Datestones on the east and west gables display the monogram H.E.S. along with the date 1771. Additionally, there is a fire plaque on the east gable.
