Description
The barn at Hall's Farm is a 17th-century threshing barn featuring a six-stead design. It is constructed from red brick and timber framing, with flint and brick gables. The roof is thatched with reeds and has flint and brick gables topped with red brick crow-stepped parapets. There are vent loops in the gables, and the barn includes two wagon entrances with double doors, as well as one entrance that has a projecting gabled porch. A thatched catslide extension is situated between the entrances. The original arch-braces to the tie beams have been replaced with timber knees. The roof structure consists of two tiers of butt-purlins, with wind bracing supporting the upper purlin.
