Description

Griston Hall is a house that has been converted into a farmhouse, dating from the late 16th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tiled and pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in two ranges. The west range includes a central gabled porch with a parapet and plain tiles, featuring a four-centred arch. Above the porch is a date stone inscribed with "1597." On either side of the porch are 19th-century casement windows that fill original openings, which are marked by flat brick hoods above. There are two similar windows above these, also in reduced openings beneath segmental arches. The gables are parapeted and supported by kneelers, with a triple diamond stack on the left gable and a double stack on the right.

The east range is slightly later and has two storeys with similar windows on the ground floor, as well as two small casements located under the eaves. It features a pantiled gabled roof with a parapet on kneelers and an east-facing double, shafted diamond stack. The rear of the building has blocked windows on both floors, although a hood mould remains on the west side. There is a 19th-century casement window in the centre and a door to the right under a segmental arch. Additionally, there is a cross wing to the east with a gabled roof, which has 20th-century fenestration and a 20th-century entrance outshut.
