Description
Low Common Cottage is a building that dates from the early 18th century and consists of two cottages that have been combined into one. It features a timber frame with clay lump infill set on a brick plinth, topped with a thatched roof. The structure is 1½ storeys high. The entrance door is located to the left of the center, with three renewed casement windows to the right in their original openings and a small window to the left. A central first-floor casement window interrupts the eaves line and retains its leaded lights. The roof is gabled and half-hipped to the west above a weatherboarded gable head, with chimney stacks positioned to the right and left of the center. There is a one-bay addition to the east, which is weatherboarded and thatched, dating from the late 20th century, along with 20th-century casements at the rear.
