Description
The gate piers, railings, and gazebo at Bylaugh Hall were constructed between 1850 and 1852 by Charles Barry, junior, and R. Banks for the trustees of Sir John Lombe. Made of stone and cast iron, the railings and gazebo form the northern boundary of the hall's grounds. The structure features several semi-rusticated piers topped with ball finials, which are connected by intricate railings. Although the main gates are missing, there is a pedestrian gate on one side flanked by three piers, each topped with heraldic beasts. The gazebo, mostly hidden by ivy, has a pair of opposing semicircular arches that are supported by semi-rusticated pilasters.
