Description
Low Farm House is a farmhouse that dates from the mid 17th century, with later additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features a timber frame, brick, and clay lump construction, topped with pantiled gabled roofs. The west end of the house is one storey with an attic and includes elements from the 17th century, such as timber framing and clay lump. The windows to the right of the porch have been renewed, and there is a gabled dormer. The west wall has been rebuilt.
The central range is from the early 18th century, with a brick plinth and rendered brick walls. This section is also one storey with an attic and has two casement windows on the ground floor, along with two gabled dormers above. The west gable features a coped parapet on kneelers, an internal stack, and tumbling.
The east block, dated 1866, is two storeys high and has a timber porch with a gabled roof on the right side. The doorway has a triangular head, and there is a bay window to the left with cross mullioned casements. A brick string course runs beneath the first-floor casement windows, and there is a large quadripartite stack above the door. Additionally, there is a 20th-century cross wing addition at the rear.
