Description
The School House is a school building dating from around 1770, constructed for Lord Montrath of Weeting Hall. It is made of white gault brick in English bond, featuring coped and tumbled gables and two gable stacks. The roof is thatched, although there are 20th-century concrete tile roofs present. The building is one and a half storeys high and has a double front with three bays. The central doorway has a panel door and fanlight set within a wooden round-headed door surround, topped by a 20th-century hood. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sash windows with segmental brick heads. To the left, there is a 20th-century plank door in a small lean-to addition. At the rear, there are two gabled school rooms that have been altered and enlarged. Inside, the building features chamfered spine beams and panelled doors.
