Description
Back Lodge to Pickenham Hall is a lodge house from the mid 19th century. It is constructed of flint with red brick dressings and features a steeply pitched plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a T-shaped plan. The north facade is symmetrical, with a central doorway that is topped by a semi-circular brick hood mould with shield stops. There are two 2-light casements with glazing bars, set in chamfered brick reveals, and brick drip moulds above the openings. Decorative panels above the windows display twin shields carved in brick. The gables are shaped and parapeted, with brick drip moulds and shield stops, while the ground floor opening on the north side is blind. The lodge has chimney stacks located on the ridge line and at the south-west corner. At the rear, there is a lean-to with swept parapet walls and brick copings. The lodge is included for its group value.
