Description

Hallfield Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse. It was likely originally timber framed with rendered clay lump infill, now set on a brick plinth, and has a thatched roof. The farmhouse follows a lobby entrance plan with one storey and a dormer attic. An early 20th-century gabled timber porch has been added. The front features one 19th-century casement window with glazing bars on the left, one on the right, and a smaller casement on the left side. Three gabled dormers, featuring corrugated tiles and 19th-century casements, are also present. A tripartite ridge stack is positioned above the door. An 18th-century gabled extension, of one storey and attic, projects to the east, constructed of flint with diaper brickwork. This extension features various casement windows, a pantiled roof, and tumbling to the gable head. Outbuildings extending to the north share similar features.
