Description
Number 31 High Street is a 17th-century and later building with a red brick and timber frame, plastered and colourwashed. It has a steep pantile roof and an L-shaped layout consisting of two storeys and an attic. The west elevation, facing the street, presents a symmetrical facade with a modern full-width shop front. Above the shop front are two sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and two dormers with segmental heads and casements. A two-storey range extends to the east, also in red brick and with a steep pantile roof. An off-centre brick chimney stack is visible. The east range features wooden casements, some of which are modern. A modern brick house at the extreme eastern end is not considered to be of particular architectural interest.
