Description

The cartshed at Old Hall Farm is a mid-19th century structure built of clay lump with a gabled pantile roof, designed in an L-shape. It features an open front supported by timber posts and softwood trusses. This building is an impressive example of 19th-century clay lump construction, typical of the area, and is the most significant structure from this period on a farm complex that otherwise showcases a high-status manorial building. The cartshed was part of the Bampton estate, which was sold in 1913.
